As a principal engineer, Nate's work at Alden has been focused primarily with Section 316(b) of the Clean Water Act. He has acted as the lead engineer on over 100+ 316(b) evaluations for power companies across the country and is an expert in fish protection technologies for use at large water withdrawals. He also supports engineering efforts for hydraulic and fish passage projects.
Jenna is a fisheries biologist at Alden who has contributed to many field and laboratory studies conducted with a variety of fish species. Her expertise includes sampling and fish collection techniques, acoustic telemetry tagging and tracking, fish identification (including ichthyoplankton), fish husbandry and culture, and collection and analysis of DIDSON acoustic camera videos. She has experience with fish passage feasibility evaluations for FERC relicensing, 316(b) compliance, and biological efficacy estimates.
