Alden is a private consulting company and laboratory with a unique history and industry leading reputation going back to 1894. Our employees in Holden, MA., Redmond, WA., Portland, OR., and Fort Collins, Colorado get their hands dirty solving flow problems that make a difference, helping to clean the World’s environment and power its infrastructure, through fish protection studies, physical modeling experiments, field measurement, and the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
Alden Research Laboratory, Inc. is seeking exceptional candidates with a strong background in applied computational fluid dynamics for the position of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer within the Hydraulic Modeling Group in its Holden Massachusetts office. The Hydraulic Modeling Group uses a combination of laboratory scale-model testing and numerical modeling to solve a wide range of both civil and mechanical engineering flow-related problems. The primary customers are in the municipal water supply and treatment, power generation and manufacturing/process industries.
The successful candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience and will be able to take projects from the proposal stage to final reporting. The successful individual will be highly motivated to develop solutions for very complex engineering problems requiring the use of cutting edge physical and numeric modeling techniques. The responsibilities of this position include proposal preparation, cost estimating and scheduling, model generation, problem setup, post-processing, analysis and report writing.
