Gas Flow Modeling Facilities

Alden’s Gas flow modeling facilities are located in Holden, MA.  These facilities enable Alden to offer a unique combination of physical modeling/testing and computational modeling to our clients.

With the largest facility in North America, Alden can execute multiple projects at any given time while maintaining cost and schedule requirements.

Gas Flow Modeling Facilities include:

  • Over 120,000 square feet of laboratory, office, and model construction space
  • Fully equipped machine, welding, and carpenter shops
  • Instrumentation development and calibration facilities
  • NIST traceable instrumentation
  • State-of-the-art data acquisition systems
  • Mist eliminator test facility
  • Vertical wind tunnels for evaluating wet stack liner materials and coatings
  • Large Particle Ash (LPA) entrainment test facility
  • Multiple blowers, interconnected by an extensive duct system, delivering large volumetric flows to one or more test rigs
  • Spray nozzles and mist generators that deliver liquid over a wide range of flows and drop sizes to analyze two-phase flow systems
  • Two wind tunnels for aerodynamic studies
  • Multiphase gas-solids test facility
