In order to focus his efforts on recent health challenges, Ned Taft has turned the reins of leadership of Alden over to other capable hands. On May 26th, Dr. Stuart Cain became President of Alden Research Laboratory, Inc.
Stu came to Alden in 1996, after receiving two bachelor’s degrees (one in Physics and one in Aerospace Engineering) and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He built Alden’s numerical modeling capability from scratch. He has been an Alden Vice President for six years, during which time he has had formal responsibilities of overseeing hydraulic and numerical modeling activities as well as flow meter calibration. Additionally, he has served as the Alden treasurer and has played key roles in strategic decisions associated with gas flow engineering and environmental and engineering services. Stu’s extensive experience in power plant engineering, environmental engineering, manufacturing, and modeling make him uniquely qualified to lead the company in the exciting years ahead.
For the foreseeable future, Ned Taft will maintain a role in Alden’s executive team, as President Emeritus.
Alden would like to thank you for your concern over Ned’s wellbeing, and for continuing to come to Alden with your most challenging flow problems.
