To provide insight and understanding of existing and future flow patterns in natural and controlled flow environments, we perform numerical and physical studies to evaluate:
- Navigation structures
- Channel training structures
- Hydropower intakes
- Grade control structures
- Channel diversions
- Local and large-scale sediment erosion and transport
For some studies, the erosion and deposition of sediment is a principal concern. Using physical and computer modeling, we can predict sediment behavior, allowing humans to utilize waterways with a minimum of expenditure for the management of sediment related issues.
