Alden has a long history of hydraulic physical model testing, and maintains one of the largest modeling facilities in North America. To meet the flow modeling needs of our clients, our world-class facilities include:
- Over 120,000 square feet of enclosed test space
- A wide variety of large basins, flumes, and tanks to accommodate models
- Flow capacities as high as 550 cfs
- Fully equipped machine, welding, and carpenter shops
- Instrumentation development and calibration facilities
- State-of-the-art data acquisition systems and computer facilities
- NIST traceable instrumentation
Dedicated facilities are also available to accommodate specialized studies. These include:
- A 100x70x40-foot wave basin for testing shoreline and offshore structures
- Two 100x4x4-foot tow tanks
- A stormwater separator test facility
- A storage tank vortexing facility
- Generic Safety Issue (GSI) 191 Scale and Full Size Strainer test facilities
